CEBS 2026 Concludes Successfully – A Recap of the Virtual Conference

The 2026 2nd International Conference on Chemical Engineering and Biological Science (CEBS 2026) was successfully held online on July 12, 2026. Support by SRH University, the conference brought together leading researchers, academics, and industry professionals from around the world to exchange cutting-edge ideas and foster collaboration in the fields of chemical engineering and biological science.

The virtual event, hosted via an interactive online platform, featured a rich program comprising three keynote speeches and two oral presentations. The conference was officially opened by the host, who welcomed all participants and outlined the schedule, which ran smoothly until approximately 16:15 (GMT+8).


Keynote Highlights

The first keynote was delivered by Prof. Xinyong Li from Dalian University of Technology, who presented on "Rational Design of Bionic Spinels-based Nanocomposites toward Catalytic Conversion of Greenhouse Gases Sustainable Chemical Resource." His talk sparked engaging discussions on sustainable catalysis and greenhouse gas mitigation.

The second keynote speaker, Prof. Tieqiao Chen from Hainan University, shared his latest research on "Activation and transformation of amides," offering novel insights into amide chemistry and its potential applications.

The third keynote was given by Prof. Ulrike Gayh from SRH University, who addressed "Humic Substances in Water Systems: From Natural Complexity to Engineered Solutions," highlighting innovative approaches to water treatment and environmental management.

Each keynote session was followed by a lively Q&A segment, where attendees raised questions via the "raise hand" feature or group chat, ensuring active engagement despite the virtual format.


Oral Presentations


The conference also featured two oral presentations:

Yan Tian (Guangxi University of Science and Technology) presented "Screening of Dominant Functional Strains in Traditional Fermented Bamboo Shoots and Quality Regulation through Targeted Odor-Reducing Fermentation."

Jie Zuo (Tianjin University) presented "Mass transfer - reaction coupling simulation study of lower aliphatic carboxylic aldehyde oxidation process in gas-liquid reactor."


Both presentations demonstrated the breadth and depth of current research in biological and chemical engineering.
